Hi all,

My job role has changed, which means I am often away from home for weeks at a time, where I do have a nice tower back at home it is often little use to me there, however when I am away I often stay in the same hotel of a week or so.  so my question is what would be better for a casual gamer who is aiming for 720 - 1080p around 60 fps mid to low setting, who just needs wants some extra power.  I am not too worried about fps as I don't play online games other than WoW and what DRM's force me to but I do often use VM's to muck about and test new software in a clean environment.

Where the portability of a laptop would be nice I can't seem to locate one inside my budget with the specs which I want.  so my dilemma is:

1. do I go over budget on a laptop which even if I could I probably will not upgrade.

2. do I build a small form factor pc and use the TV in the room.

My budget is around £1,000.  However, I don't want to spend that much if I can avoid it.  my desired specs are below, however, I am happy to substitute if the need arises:

- i5 8th gen+  / Ryzen 2700 / Ryzen 3500

- 500GB storage for OS / Common Apps

- GTX 1050 Ti or Better

- WiFi is a must

Thanks for any and all help and or guidance you can provide.

as a basic guide I was looking like something as a build:
