Here is my current setup. This is the first computer I had built, didn't have much of a budget and was just trying to move on from a cheap prebuilt with a celeron processor.

Intel i3-6100 with the stock cooler

GIGABYTE GA-H110M-S2H LGA1151 Intel H110 Micro ATX DDR4 Motherboard

Nvidia GTX 1060 6gb

Ballistic sport LT 8gb ddr4 single stick

120 GB SSD ( and some hard drives I salvaged from old pc and console)

550-watt Seasonic PSU

Yes, I know the GPU is bottlenecked. Like I said, just needed to move away from a crappy prebuilt. My main use is 1080p gaming, primarily rocket league since that's the only thing this CPU can run at 60 fps. I want to move into AAA games like AC, I also like simulation games like cities skylines. So upgrading the CPU is a necessity, will also need a new motherboard to pair with it. Ram I also on the list to replace, looking for 16 GB around 3000 or higher. Keeping the GPU. I'd also like to upgrade the SSD but I'll see what I can do about that later.

For CPU, I'm looking around the $200 or lower price point. Before the ryzen launch, I was looking at a 9400f. Now I'm leaning towards the r5 3600, likely what I'm going to buy. For a motherboard I'm not really set on anything yet, still looking around. I'm thinking about the Asus x570 Tuf motherboard with wifi. The main thing I'm looking for there is dual m.2 and some future proof for when I upgrade to an r7.

Looking for recommendations. I also, I know that prime day and Newegg's Fantastech sale is around the corner. Not really expecting these new products to get a price drop but maybe ram? Don't know what to expect I've never really paid attention to these sales.

You could maybe hold out a bit longer for B550 boards.

Otherwise you'll have to look for an MSI B450 board that can flash the bios without a CPU, and I think their price has gone up a fair bit because of that feature.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?
