I'd turn off the Remote Assistance just because it's rarely or never used. You have to actively invite someone to remotely assist you through that tool.

Windows 10 Home doesn't support incoming Remote Desktop connections, though there are ways to enable some sort of RDP server functionality. You could download Microsoft's RD Client on your phone, and do a definitive test by attempting to connect to your computer from the RD client. You have to be on the same network on both devices for it to be a valid test. 

My only talent in life is troubleshooting and fixing stuff.
