I brought a computer with i7-920 2.67 GHz 4-core, motherboard intel DXS58SO, socket LGA1366, chipset x58, 8 GB RAM, Nvidia GT9400 GT, for $50

I ask if will be worth it if I upgrade this cpu with a better i7, or xeon, what type of cpu recommend?

and what type of gpu can use for this build without having any bottleneck?

If you stick with that i7, slap an RX 570 in there, overclock the CPU, and you'll basically be set.

Also, is that 8GB 2x4? If not, get 16GB more and rock triple channel.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

if I want to upgrade the i7 maybe for a better i7 o xeon?

yeah, I have the 2x4 ram, but there its an issue with 1 of the ram socket, I think its dead, I try to put another 4GB but isn't on, so I leave it that way.

if I want go for the Nvidia?

A better i7 doesn't mean much if you overclock, unless you need 6 cores. The good Xeons for X58 are about the X5650 or X5670, you can get them for super cheap, like $20.

Nvidia cards tend to be overpriced compared to AMD right now, especially on the used market. GTX 1060 3GB is the competitor for the RX 470/570 but it's usually a bit pricier.

If you could have a friend buy you an RX 570 from the used market in the united states or another country, that would be the best option. But since that's not convenient for your friends, then the 1660 is the winner out of the graphics cards you listed. Best performance for lowest price.
