Assuming $500 budget and keeping the GTX960....

I mean tbh graphics cards can be easily upgraded later on anyway.

I also added an NVMe SSD (one of the best) and swapped in a much better fully modular PSU

Seems like a decent enough build, thank you!!

So I'm currently thinking about attempting to upgrade the processor in this prebuilt ASUS M32 tower. I don't have a whole lot of cash so I'm trying to see if it's possible to do something.. I've already done some minor work on it by having thrown in a new power supply along with a GTX 960

My specs go as follows:

Processor: AMD A10 6700 APU (integrated graphics) @ 3.7 Ghz (64 bit system)

Motherboard: M32cd_a_f_k20cd_k31cd  (the problem with this mobo is that it's proprietary so it's hard to find info about it. It fits the MicroATX category)

RAM: Generic 12.0 GB 1600 Mhz DIMM

GPU: GTX 960 2 GB

Power Supply: ThermaltakeTR2 500W

So would it be possible to upgrade this PC with a new processor? Let me know if I missed any important information, thanks for the help everyone :)

EDIT: Forgot to mention I added in two small case fans to provide some more airflow. The stock cooler has never been that great and I can't find any other coolers that would fit over the holes of the motherboard

I’d opt for a new system instead updating an older one. I would say try and save up if you can and invest in a new system with DDR4

Yikes, that'll be a good while then. I mean I'll consider that-- I'm just laying out options for myself, but thank you!

Well with zen 2 launch days away we will see price cuts in current gen ryzen 2000 cpu’s. Perhaps the mobo’s might drop a little too.

You  say you have a $500 budget, if you could save another 200 you could put a pretty decent budget system together. Even with $500 it should be possible but not sure on having a dGPU

I mean $500 alone just on the safe side for new processor, mobo if needed. But, I think that probably saving up for a new system will probably be what I'd have to end up doing. What do you recommend I build?
