CPU ratio mode: Fixed vs Dynamic?

I'm planning to buy 9600k and play with the overclocking. I've watched a couple of videos on youtube and almost all of them overclock it with fixed core ratio mode and let the cpu run at max frequency all the time. Is it a good practice to do this? I'm currently running a 6600k with a dynamic core clock, so it's a bit of a new thing for me.
