Hello!

I have 16GB DDR4 Memory in my system, however around 50% is always in use.

I know I have Discord, Steam and Chrome open, however my ram usage is still at around 50%, which means I only have 8GB available. These three programs are only using about 700mb. I used to have around 60% mem usage, but after I disabled superfetch It went down to around 50%.

I have had issues with some USB devices stealing all my memory (WiFi adapters, keyboards etc) however I'm not using a WiFi adapter anymore, and my Razer keyboard software is barely using any memory according to task manager.

Everything in the picture takes up about 1,5 gigs, and the rest does not use enough memory to account for the high memory usage, it comes nowhere close to 8 gigs. Any help is appreciated :)

Check the memory tab in Task Manager, what does that say? Just to make sure all 16 GBs are available.

Upon boot up I have 20 things in the tray.  Ram usage is 3.6GB.  If I open up browsers or discord the usage goes to about 4.4GB usage.  Also don't forget the cache is taking up RAM as well.  I don't really think you have any issues my friend, it is what it is.

If there's nothing hiding away in the Services tab of task manager and all your memory does indeed show up properly, then you've got a RAM leak of some kind. At that point it'd probably be easiest to reinstall Windows and see if it comes back.

Well, I just feel like 8gb mem usage is a bit high considering I only had one chrome tab open, but maybe you're right.

My bad that's entirely the wrong page, meant to type details and not services.

I had a similar problem a couple years back. Not sure if my issue will match up with yours. Mine was caused by the Killer Network Suite having a memory leak. If you have Killer network hardware and the more you use the internet the more memory is used, you may have the same issue. I fixed it by uninstalling Killer's software and only using their driver.

Do you have an intel CPU? If so, what generation? From my experience, 7th generation and later CPUs tend to gobble up as much ram as possible and are able to take up half of your ram as VRAM easily. I encountered this problem while cleaning my mom's laptop, and intel HD graphics had actually set aside 8gb of 16gb in her system as vram. This was basically enough to convince to not use an intel CPU in any build again. Maybe if they fix this issue down the line, I'll consider it. Until then, I'll keep checking my parent's computers to see when this issue has been resolved.

Current PC (Second Build) : CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 (OC @3.8GHz, sometimes pushed to 4GHz) RAM: 16gb Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4-2666 (OC @2733Mhz, sometimes pushed to 2800 for testing purposes)   GPU: PowerColor Radeon RX570 8gb MOBO: ASRock B450m Pro4 SSD: Inland 120gb HDD: 1tb Seagate Barracuda PSU: Cooler Master Masterwatt 500w Lite Case: NZXT H500 OS: Arch Linux+ KDE Plasma [Desktop Environment] & Windows 10 Pro [Broken due to grub 50% of the time]

Accessories: Mouse: Alienware AW958 Elite Keyboard: Corsair K63 Wireless  Headphones: Samsung Level On Pro

Phone (waiting on arrival): Samsung Galaxy Note 9
