Differences between M.2 keys

Go to solution Solved by TheSLSAMG,

There should be no issues running the drive on the board.

M.2 B+M key is commonly used for SATA and PCIe 3.0 x2 NVMe SSDs. Your board is keyed correctly and compatible with those drives. There are also drives that carry only M-key, but these are typically higher end PCIe 3.0 4x drives such as the Samsung 970 Evo Plus and Western Digital Black SN750. You can also run these drives.

Hi everyone! I'm thinking about getting an M.2 SSD, this one to be precise. This is my first SSD so I have a doubt here related to the different shapes or keys of the M.2 connection. The SSD seems to have a "B+M" key from what I searched, and my motherboard (this one) has an M key. My question would be, are they compatible with each other? I'd assume yes, but I'd rather have some confirmation from someone with experience before making the purchase.

Thanks for the help guys, it's my first post here, so sorry if I messed something up :D
