So, after about 5 to 6 years I decided to build a new system. A lot has changed with all the new tech and what not being added since then. So my specs are a cooler master master 500M case, Asus Z390 Prime MB, i7 9700K. and I went with corsair ram and a corsair Hydro H100i RGB 240 rgb platinum. Building was easy until I ran into the 4 pin to 3 pin mess. The prime ONLY has 4 pin 12V connectors, and all the fans including the cooler use 3 pin, not to mention the case has two usb 3.0leads for the front, but the MB has only a single 3.0 20 pin connection. That I have figured out, with a splitter, just tossing it out for any who may be thinking of going with the prime MB.

To add, the tac wire for the cooler is 3 pin, and it's supposed to go on the cpu fan connector on the MB. I'm pretty much guessing I won't be using the tac, as no way to use the fan out, can someone tell me if that is a bad thing or can it work without the tac?

I did find a hub that will allow me to step down off the 4 pin to 3 and allow me to at least use the asus RGB and the ARGB card that comes in the case. I suppose what I'm asking is 1st, does it matter if the cooler tac isn't plugged up? I'm a bit over whelmed with all the wiring off the 3 fans from the case, it has a lead off the ARGB controller for the asus aura but of course it is also 3 pin. I'm pretty sure the hub I'm looking to buy will get around that, I'm just wondering if it wouldn't make more sense to just do away with the one that came in the case, buy 2 of the converters, or simply add a 5V converter and try to get it all hooked up that way. I've spent a pretty penny getting this all put bought, and would hate to either wind up with the ARGB not working, the RGB not working or frying something inadvertently.

Thanks for any feed back.
