I just recently won a couple dollars playin Keno, ( LOL I know gambling is bad, but this time I was fortunate) and I was thinking about giving my current build a facelift.

Currently I am running a;

i7 2600

Z68AP-D3 Gigabyte motherboard

16 Gigs DDR3

Nvidia GTX 1060 3 Gig

250 SSD

1 T HDD

How much is "a couple dollars"? Is it $5? Or is it $100?

Ah, that kind of couple dollars.

I'd wait until July 7th for Ryzen 3000(after seeing third party reviews of course). After that then maybe upgrade to a Ryzen 5 3600X which is $229, an X570 motherboard(which should be around $200), 16GB DDR4 3200MHz(AMD recommends 3600 although we will have to see third party testers like Gamers Nexus test it out first) which should be like $80. The rest of the money can go into a new GPU, a new PSU(this should be priority) and maybe a bigger SSD.

I take it you want a build for 1500 dollars, US i suppose? Your old one isnt worth upgrading at all.

Here you have an extremely powerful build, only one step below topped out gaming PCs. Although it is way above your 1500 budget, sitting at 1960$.

It really depends how long you want this build to be able to play latest games at high fps, and if those extra 400 are worth it for you.

Total:1960$

CPU 3800X 400$

Sticking to your budget of 1500$, this is what i would get.

Total of 1534$ with new Ryzen 3800X

CPU 3700X (329$) or 3800X (399$)
