Hey guys. I've completely run out of ideas. I recently upgraded my computer. I'll post the specs below in a minute here. So far, my computer only freezes when I'm playing games, or streaming, or both at the same time. But at very random times. I've been unsuccessful on trying to replicate the crash myself. I've stress tested my computer to see if I could make it happen then, and nothing. All the thermals look fine. Anywhere between low 50 to mid 60. Even dialed everything back to stock settings and alas, it continues to freeze. It's just a hard freeze. I can't do anything, besides hold the power button down to shut it off. When it does freeze, there's a loud buzzing sound that comes out of my speakers. I freshly reinstalled everything last night, everything was smooth, Apex ran fine, went to Siege, and bam. Froze again. Only this time there was no loud buzz sound. I'm really out of ideas here. Anything suggestions, or tips help.

Specs:

i9 9900K

GTX 1080

Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 32gb (3000mhz)

MSI Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon

Seagate Barracuda 2tb

Kingston 120gb (Windows is on this one.)

Kingston 240gb

Cooler Master 650V 80+ Gold

Is the BIOS up to date? I would update all drivers and BIOS from the motherboards support page and make sure Windows and other drivers like GPU and such are enabled. Don't just downclock your OCs either reset the BIOS to default after updating it to the newest version and see if it still does it. When you upgraded your computer did you do a fresh install of Windows or did you just put you're old SSD in the with the new parts and use your old install of Windows?

Sorry for the late response. Time for work. Appreciate your response too. Yes, all the drivers are up to date. But I probably should have mentioned that, left my mind. When I upgraded, I just plugged it all in. No fresh install after the upgrade. First fresh install was last night.

It is, yes.

Have you reset the bios settings all to default? Any overclock even something simple like the XMP profile for ram can cause issues.

As of right now, yes everything is set back to default. I actually turned off XMP on my way out to work. I'm not in front of my computer now to test it with XMP off, but I was going to try Siege again since it crashed on that, and as my luck would have it, my internet went out. So after work I plan I sitting down and seeing if XMP off helped. So right now, all is at default, and XMP is off. Any other suggestions I should try later today?

Not really until we see if that works or not, just post on here after your try it out later if it is or isn't working and we can go from there. Another thing that could be causing it if that doesn't work is the SSD it's on, you can try a fresh install on your other ssd or running in a bootable USB version of Windows like WinPE and see if it still has the issue on a different drive.

Sounds good. I'll give it a try later today and see if anything happens. I appreciate your help so far. I'll post here later today.

Alllllright. So I tried two different things. Just immediately started playing Siege when I got home. Crashed about 20-30 minutes in. Went back to the BIOS, set my ram to 3000mhz. Lasted about 45 minutes. Froze again. Right now it's back to default. 2133mhz.
