16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3

Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. Z97X-Gaming 7

NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN X x2 SLI

111GB Samsung SSD 840 EVO 120GB + 931GB Western Digital HDD

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

and i used the bottleneck calculator and it told me i have a 38% bottleneck cause of my CPU

and i ordered planing to upgrade my rig with

Intel Core i7-9700K

GIGABYTE Z390 AORUS ULTRA LGA 1151

CORSAIR Vengeance RGB Pro 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200

so did i do the right thing to upgrade and avoiding the bottleneck?

should i do more to my PC ?

should i overclock my new CPU ?

please i need an experts opinion.

i have a ROG PG279Q (2560x1440@59Hz)

with my setup i'm supposed to run every game on the ultra settings but i can't

ps: i need my PC mainly for gaming

Go to GPU-Z or Task Manager when you’re gaming and see how much usage is on each. 1440p isn’t terribly hard to run though, a 2060 or Vega 56 should be able to do it comfortably.

Rather than using a new platform I think the best route to go is to find a used i7 4770K or i7 4790K (ideally) and get a new single GPU.

I agree with the new GPU, but going from a 4770 to a 4790k isn’t a big enough improvement to justify spending around 100 dollars.

You can overclock it though.

Yeah but if OP doesn’t have a good cooler that’s another 100 for a Dark Rock 4 or D15. At that point it just makes more sense to save up some more for a new platform.

At the end of the day it's up to the OP to decide what he wants to do.

Yeah but isn’t the point of this thread to put out our recommendations?

OP, you need to measure how much the CPU and GPUs are being used. I would also try turning SLi off, many new games have awful multi-GPU support.

Wait for next Gen before upgrading. Intel 10th Gen will be a step up if it ever releases and AMD's next gen is much better value than the 9700K.

While gaming, have GPU-Z open on the “Sensors” tab, from there you can see max and average usage for both CPU and GPU.

I'm really sorry to bother you, but therebis no cpu usage in the gpu z i couldn't find it.

Is it easier if i do a benchmark? If so which one do you recommend

download MSI afterburner, use the on-screen display to check if the CPU is often at 90-100% while gaming.
