Will this set up work

When I was younger and got my pc I did a really stupid thing and used 1 stick of 8hb ddr4 2400 MHz and 1 stick of 4gb ddr4 2400 MHz ram even though I have a motherboard which supports dual channel memory. My system currently runs fine and the CPU usage is fine. But I'm planning on buying a Vega 56 so obviously my CPU usage will go up. Will there be any issues because of the weird combination of ram?

My pc now:

MSI H310M PRO VH

I5 8400

12GB DDR4 2400MHZ

2TB HDD

120GB SSD

RX590 (TO BE REPLACED WITH VEGA 56)

CORSAIR TXM 750W

So I won't need to swap out that 4gb stick?

Yes it will work with 12gb and it will follow the worse ram configuration you have (1 of those if its different in speed and latency)
