Need help with new PC build

Go to solution Solved by renz62,

I think you wouldn't really need an i7 for that kind of use., an i5-4670k and a motherboard of your choice would suffice your work needs :)

i7 is mostly recommended for video editors and rendering applications. You can just use the saved money to buy a better graphics card, like a GTX 780 which will make you play most games at max settings :)

Because at the end of the day, the graphics card will be the one doing all the work in games

Hi everyone. :)

I'm a long time fan/member of Linus and the forum, first time posting.

I've built a few systems before, but I'm not ashamed to say that I've messed up a few of the builds.

(either with to low PSU or to much memory that's never used, and non-optimized processor, motherboard and ram combinations.)

So I'm looking for some feedback about my next build.

I have a budget of about 25,000 SEK (Swedish kronor) = about 4,300 CAD.

This is a gaming system. :D

(Must have! - i7-4770K and Corsair Obsidian 750D.)

Why i need the 4770K is mostly future proofing.
My current rig is powered by a Core 2 Quad Q9300.

Been adding components and upgrading the GPU from a 6600GT, 8800GT, 280, 480 to what i have now is a 560Ti.

GPU: ASUS GeForce GTX 760 2GB DirectCU II OC

CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K

CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H100i ( with 2x Corsair Air Series SP120 )

Motherboard: ASUS TUF SABERTOOTH Z87 - ATX / Z87

Case: Corsair Obsidian 750D
 - 4x Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition 140mm

PSU: Corsair PowerSupply HX750 750W 80+ Gold

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3 PC-12800 1600MHz

HD:
 - Samsung 840 Series SSD 250GB SATA3
 - WD Black 1TB (7200RPM/64MB Cache)
