I'm just reminding you a backplate has no performance or temperature value, just an aesthetic one.

Yeah i know but it looks really ugly without a backplate

I also have the same thought on my gtx970, but after seeing the prices over ~$13...

i gave up my mind.

Could get different screws and use an ek backplate. Quite a large temp difference, even more so when cooling the plate. Just depends on the card really.
