Bottleneck

Hello guys, I upgraded my gpu from a gtx 970 to an rtx 2070. I currently have an msi z97 gaming 5 as mobo, intel core i7 4790k and g.skill ares 8gb 1866. Should I upgrade these or can they keep up with the new gpu ?

If its already installed why not just run a few games with the afterburner overlay on and see if it bottlenecks?

I personally think you will be fine with that cpu, you could always overclock cause you have the k version if it was bottlenecking, I would throw in 8 more gigs of ram tho if you only have 8 rn

I had 16gb of ram but one stick died. I was considering buying another 8 gb of ram but before I wanted to know if the cpu does not need upgrade

You could upgrade it, but you don't have to, that cpu should play most any game at playable fps!
