Hey guys !

 

Just another question : 

 

what's with all this: you can't upgrade your xbox 360 HDD with a normal HDD; it has to be a Microsoft HDD ?

 

I personally think that is a pile of crap !

 

However, what do i need to do wo a normal HDD for an Xbox ?

 

Do I only have to make it bootable, whats with the xbox 360's software ?

You have to use the xbox HDD. you cant buy a SSD and make it bootable like you can with the PS4

Anyways...can't you just plug in an external drive and use that for additional storage?

I know that PS3 dosen't allow for external hard drives to hold games, and PS4 can't use external HDDs at all. I assume its the same for xbox.

 

Also what kind of xbox360, original or slim?

I have an xbox 360 slim, and when I put movies on my external hard drive it will not read them like it does on a flash drive, and I know you can use a flash drive as a little memory boost. 

 

So I do not think you can use an external hard drive as an external hard drive for the xbox.

The way the xbox 360 works is there is a signed sector on the hard drive, I think it is 11 or 13.  You can replace the original hard drive with a 250 or 320GB hard drive.  The way it works is you need to find the security sector online then using a progarm I think it is called HDDhackr it will wright the security sector to a WD drive then modify the inquiry string on the drive to match that of the security sector.  Once the WD drive has the security sector and the inquiry string matches the xbox will allow you to use the hard drive as if it was an original MS hard drive.
