I/O stops working!!!

yash sharma

I play gta on my pc, and out of nowhere the screen blacks out, the mouse/ keyboard aren't on, and my wired xbox controller doesnt work. This happened a couple of times. I tried searching online for other people with this issue, but nobody else did. If you're wondering i have a asrock a320m pro4, ryzen 1300x and gigabyte gtx 1050ti.

I just checked and it says error 41 kernel-power. I read online and it said something about the computer not shutting down correctly, but i leave it on sleep. There was also something that said my power supply might not be powerful enough to run it, but it was working just fine before this past month. My psu is a evga 450bt.

@yash sharma u could check easily with gpu tweek or some other monitoring tool to see if its perfing on power last time i was running something like ur rig i had a 1500x and a 970 with a cx550 or 500 and didnt have any issues might be a goo time to do a clean restart too leaving in sleep is cool for speedy boots but if its not restarted for a while it may be having issues with updates etc or just some random program running in the background interfering also try diabling the nvidia in game overlay if u have it turned on in  geforce experience i find especialy if running overclocked or hi ram speeds it can lead to crashes when trying to load notification

There is no real reason for most people to even have the NVidia GeForce Experience software installed in the first place nowadays, since you cannot do anything with it without logging in to an NVidia account, and it just wastes resources due to that.

Have you tried updating the motherboards firmware?

And what RAM are you using? The 1st gen Ryzen CPUs were very finicky about what RAM was used with them.

I use it on my rig to upload / stream to other platforms and also use it on my sons rig to keep his drivers auto magicly updated as he lives 100 miles away and going up their once a month to update them would be costly and trying to explain to him how to update the drivers id probly get a responce like wheres the steering wheel lol

Your reasons are valid, though there are better alternatives to both (such as Microsoft's GameBar on Windows 10, and driver update tools especially for GPUs).

Sorry, I did not realize that.

I was thinking more about the system resource utilization.

@moriel5 thats cool i get u but its quite easy to use task manager and force close the containers when u dont need them  but on my rig the resources arnt realy a problem and to be honest iv been trying out other streaming software ie stream labs obs etc and i find them much more taxing on games etc i loose 60-100 frames on division 2 running it through obs rather than nvidia and theirs also a noticable negative diference in the quality during streams 1913847406_DesktopScreenshot2019_05.15-20_34_18_22.thumb.png.674f76dc5f2667560c46cc54c75f942d.png2135429372_DesktopScreenshot2019_05.15-20_33_14_79.thumb.png.5b067125cfa5dea9f6c7ce0757669d07.png

Thanks for the info, I'll keep this in mind if anyone ever asks me.

For myself though, I already said that I do not play games, and in any case I use Linux.
