Options (Prices in SGD)

CPU:

i5-8400 - $304

R5-2600x - $339

Ram:

G.SKILL F4 2666MHZ CL19 8GB - $58

CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX 3000MHZ CL16 - $65

KLEVV PREFORMANCE BOLT SERIES 3200MHZ 8GB - $65

Motherboard - Need some recommendations, I don't do overclocking so something basic would suffice.

I'm not sure what configuration to go for since their performance and price is so similar. From what I've read, the 2600x is an better all rounder but the 8400 edges out the ryzen by 2-3 fps in games. Also read that Ryzen CPUs produce noticeably more FPS with faster RAM as compared to Intel CPUs, would the 2600x + 3200mhz ram produce >5 fps than a 8400+3200mhz in newer games?

In either case, you'd need a new motherboard to upgrade the CPU, so bear that in mind.

The performance should be similar, but check benchmarks for the specific games you'll be playing. After that, it's more a question of personal preference than anything else.

Screwdriver specs: Long, pointy. Turns things. Some kind of metal.
