So... I bought a new pc recently and wanted it to look really nice. And I decided to put my graphics card (Aorus RTX 2080) in vertically (with a riser cable). But now my system won’t boot up and when I look at the mainboard the debug led for VGA is lighting up. If I put my gpu in normally everything works perfectly. Also if I use the riser cable in a different setup (Other mainboard and a 960) it surprisingly works.

So the gpu works, the cable works... but just not together. Any ideas why that happens??

orher specs are:

mainboard: asus z390 e gaming

cpu: i7 8700k

The only thing I can think of is something with thermals... Have you tried doing it with the side panel off?

Yes I had the sidepanel of the hole time. The thing is the pc doesn’t even start up so there’s pretty much no temperature build up
