Help hdd not recognised

I just bought a seagate st1000dm010-2ep102 1tb hard disk and it is not recognized in diskmananger but it does show it in storage devices and in the bios but i am absolutely clueless about why its not working
Help much apreciated

See what it tells you. Might have some kind of funky partition on it your system isn't seeing.

i think so because it does show up in bios the ST1000DM010

Try to update hdd's drivers

I can't find the drivers on seagate's website but i tried this and it says i have the best drivers for this drive

yeah i think i just need to return it and get an other one i have never seen anything like this

Ok, do this:

 

Unplug everything except your boot drive, and the new hard drive.

Boot to windows, see what happens

If it doesn't show, turn off system, move new hard drive to different SATA port, see what happens...

tried everything thing you said even moved to sata port that ssd was in no results...

Have you tried using CHKDSK through the command line to clean and format the disk?

I had to do this to get a shucked 3TB drive to be recognised internally after removing it from its external case.

i cant the disk doesnt even have a tag like A:  E: ,etc. Doesn't even recognize in diskpart

Yeah, my drive didn't have a letter assigned either. I selected it through the disk number listed. But if it doesn't show in Diskpart either then I guess that doesn't help.

Oddly, I'm a huge fan of Seagate, despite their rather well known faux pas in the past. I'd go Western Digital next. But that's just my opinion.
