Oh my. Maybe I should try that... lol of course I tried that. All 3 settings of it. I've tried making sure the sata cables are connected well, too. Just looking for info while I try and research on my own and try things as I find them.

You need CSM disabled, pc should boot assuming you have no legacy hardware attached. What motherboard?

Sorry I misread, I assumed the GPU was the issue, okay so let me explain.

You installed the OS with CSM enabled.

The 570 needs CSM disabled.

The OS wont boot with CSM disabled, so you need to reinstall windows.

And reinstalling Windows would do what to fix it? Just change the setting? Trying to learn reasons for everything. I have Windows 7, if that changes anything.

First you need to understand what CSM does.

CSM enabled means you can emulate the older bios environment for legacy booting.

With it disabled only UEFI booting is supported.

So with CSM disabled, then installing the OS you will automatically be booting into UEFI. (If you cant boot into the installer, your install media needs to be updated)

How sure are you about process, lol? And is there another way to fix it? I can put the old card back in. Reason I ask is I don't have internet or the Windows disks. The got lost in a move.  Only internet I can use is my phones hotspot.

the bit i dont understand is that the card should work with CSM enabled, as even new cards have legacy support.

That's what I'm confused about and don't understand what's happening. The video through the card works cuz that's what the display is plugged into. The fans cut on for a few seconds. Idk. I just noticed on the boot priority, there is nothing there...

Boot devices will only appear if they match the state the system is in:

LEGACY = CSM ENABLED

UEFI = CSM DISABLED

its quite simple.
