Hello, I am attempting to overclock my Ryzen 5 2600x manually for the first time to attempt higher performance and benchmark scores.

I managed a 4.1ghz all core overclock at 1.4v however when I attempt to go to 4.2ghz at 1.4v or higher it is stable at first but after starting the cinebench test it crashes.

My specs are:

Ryzen 5 2600x

Be quiet pure rock cooler

Asrock x470 master

G.skill flare X 16gb 2400

Gtx 960 4gb

750w PSU

If anyone has any advice or suggestions to achieve a stable system at 4.2ghz it would be really appreciated, thanks!

Your CPU's limit is about 4.1ghz then, usually about as simple as that.

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

I have seen it peak over 4.25ghz in ryzen master when it is set to auto.

Then maybe there's something happening with the voltage when it's under load like with some LLC settings in the bios, or it's pushing more than 1.4V which isn't exactly recommended past about 1.425V

Or are you overclocking memory at the same time?

No, I would like to overclock the memory as I know 2400 is a bit low for ryzen but have not yet figured out how.

You just up the memory voltage to 1.4V and try 2666mhz most likely.

But it's unlikely you get very far overclocking memory.
