z170a

7600k

16g ddr4 2666

960evo for os and 2 sata ssd

laptop spec: 8250u 8g ram ssd

My laptop take 3 seconds for the bios boot when i check on ctrl+alt+delete startup. its very fast. My gaming pc take 14 second. Is it normal? Do i have a compatibilty issu or it can be a bios setting?

Most high end laptops have their boot sequence simplified by the manufacturer to not look for any extra hardware, or will even have the hardware stored directly in a non volatile cache so it can be immediately pulled, sparing the system the need to go through the normal identification stuff most desktops have to.

You can do this yourself by setting the right boot order, disabling your pc from checking all empty SATA and PCIE connections, as well as any usb ports, drives and other input mediums you have with no intention of ever booting to.

This will get you "closer", but because the solution is often custom hardware and non volatile cache as i was saying there's a limit to what you can do unless your running an optane boot drive or something close to dram or cache speeds while also being non volatile...
