It was plugged into the top one but I made sure it was the graphics that it's plugged into. I cant figure out why it was only showing 512. I also cant get the social club to udate cuz i dont have internet and am using my phones hotspot lol. Got to play it for like 15 minutes, blue screened and now takes like 4 hours to update and fails at yhe end so i cant sign into social club to play offline. UGH but my data refreshes on the 23rd lol... I don't have an exact budget but around 200 or less is what I would prefer. Not a ton of extra cash atm lol. I planned on seeing what might NEED to be upgraded before I decided how to move forward.

Yeesh, that sounds like a mess. For social club, try uninstalling it completely and reinstalling it from the game's bin folder. Sometimes Social Club gets corrupted, it sucks and it's so annoying that Rockstar makes you have that to play.

Anyway that aside. Hardware-wise, the GPU is definitely the weakest link. Everything else is still largely capable. For less than $200 you can get an RX 580:

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/XYDzK8/asus-radeon-rx-580-4gb-dual-video-card-dual-rx580-o4g

EDIT: This one for the same price. I copied/pasted the wrong link by accident above. 8GB vs 4GB for the same price:

So, a friend built me a desktop back in 2013 and I recently decided to start buying some AAA games instead of just online games. I got GTAV, thinking it was plenty to run it smoothly and it can barely run it. The memory it shows is only 512mb in game. Or at least that's what it says. I'll post the parts list, looking to find out what i need to do or upgrade. I found a GeForce GTX 1050 ti 4gb and a AMD  Radeon HD 7870 2gb on Amazon, thinking a new card would solve this issue. Havn't ordered them yet, though. The graphics I'm currently using is 2 AMD Radeon HD 7750 with crossfire.

Definitely check this. The game should not be showing 512MB, it should show 1GB, so you might have your monitor plugged into your motherboard and therefore are using the CPU's integrated graphics instead of your graphics cards.

HOWEVER, those GPUs you have are only 1GB (and even though you have 2 of them, when dealing with Crossfire/SLI it doesn't stack, so you still just have 1GB of VRAM). That is assuredly a huge bottleneck today.

I would upgrade it either way to a single decent card. An RX 570 or 580 are good choices for 1080p gaming. Neither of those will be bottlenecked by your CPU, plus you have 16GB of RAM which is good too. So just get one of those cards depending on your budget and you should be good to go!

And make sure you plug the monitor into it and not the motherboard.

Also, which gpu would be a better buy?

GTX 1050 TI or RX 580

Get an RX 580 8gb and a corsair CX for the PSU, since the ultra doesn't look like a good PSU.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

Thanks! I'll definitely get that ordered soon and try the reinstalled thing. I got the disks and didn't think about having to "activate it" online. So dumb. I added links to a GTX and an RX, would the RX still be better?

Yep, it'll outperform the 1050 Ti by a wide margin in quite a few games.

Ok, awesome! Thanks so much! Hopefully this fixes it ^_^. We chose the parts based on upgrading the graphics later and I guess that time has come lol.

Oh, I linked the wrong RX 580! DON'T buy that one. For the SAME price you can get the 8GB card instead of the 4GB card:

So random update... while playing with/checking settings of everything... discovered my crossfire WASN'T ENABLED.... strange.. And I also talked to a neighbor and they are letting me borrow some of their wifi lol. So was able to update GTAV and get it started now that crossfire is going "properly", lol. Anyway, get it up and going and check the memory, and it shows "1864mb/2064mb"... my wife is using the cpu so I'll try to get a pick of it, later... just thought it was weird how the vram is showing 2gb in game.

Yeah, GTA V adds up the VRAM between the 2 cards, even though that's not how it'll be utilized. It'll still only effectively have 1GB.

Got another question. Since it seems my graphics cards are now working better, I'm wondering if it could play Ark: Survival Evolved or Rust or something like that, well. Posting my DxDiag for 32 and 64 bit cuz it defaults to 32 first for some reason.

The minimum specs are for a 2GB card, so likely no. It might run but you'll be very VRAM bottlenecked and it will most likely stutter a lot.

It's worth investing in a decent 1080 card then.
