I'm looking to upgrade from my 14″ Laptop - primarily to get way more power (CPU) and a bigger / higher resolution display. Primary use cases are developing and well, LaTeX. Not being much of a gamer (occasionally some Civilization, EU4 or Factorio), I've decided to go for 4k@60Hz. This is what I've picked out so far. It is still missing a GPU and a motherboard and I'm unsure about the case (should be quiet and beginner friendly) as well as the power supply. Is there something to be considered for the motherboard besides compatibility, size and IO?

Budget is at most 2000 EUR and I still need a keyboard.

Can you wait another 6 Weeks or probably not??

Because at the end of next month, there might be a big presentation/release that might/will change the whole CPU Market.

As for the PSU, why not get a be quiet Pure Power 11 instead?

I think rather not. Are there anything more than vague rumors backing up the date?

The best facts about Ryzen 3000 we have is this demo:
https://www.anandtech.com/show/13829/amd-ryzen-3rd-generation-zen-2-pcie-4-eight-core

Basically they showed a mid range 8 Core Chip with an unknown clockrate wich was equal to an i9-9900K in cinebench while consuming much less power.

Hm, that's sounds really interesting, but I think I'll order something today. Are there any particularity worthwhile Nvidia GTX 2060 or 2070s?

For the Gold efficiency rating? Or is it quieter?

Why not go for Vega?
Mindfactory has the awesome Nitro+ V64 on sale right now and a 600W Pure Power 11 as well.

You could either buy whatever or you could risk it and plan for the upcomig AMD stuff as some boards are already getting new BIOS Versions that could eventually be for the upcoming chips.

Its a bit quieter/has a better fan and might also be a bit less annoying with modern higher end GPU.

I hadn't really looked and the Vega's to be honest. But it seems really good at that price! Thanks!

Well, ähhhm, the Card was 389€ at Mindfactory.

But yeah, I got my Nitro+ also for 439€, sadly.

And the Screen is also very meh because its a TN Panel (very high dependant on viewing angle).
