Hey, I was wondering if there is a way to do a gpu passthrough on a virtual machine. I did read on some forums that it is possible, but the host has to be using Linux or some distro of Linux, like mint or arch.

I wanna know if the same is possible but done on windows instead of Linux

I believe you can. But if I  recall it's very difficult

You can do something similar with hyper-v, at least on Windows Server. I don't know how well it works though and from what I've seen it seems not all kinds of hardware are supported. Usually Linux is chosen as a hypervisor because it uses fewer resources and some distros let you set things up very easily with a gui, which isn't the case on Windows.
