Hello,

I turned off my computer 2 days ago and it forced a windows update. (FORCED ME TO UPDATE) So I had to do it so I did it and went to bed. Woke up the next morning turned it on, tried to open cheat engine and it no longer works. I am 100% sure its cause of this update, and if anyone is on the most recent windows 10 update and has cheat engine 6.8.3 installed, please try it and get  back to me.

this is very annoying.

No application, I literally opened windows, had no other applications running (excluding background ones) and just tried opening it and it didn't work, it asked for administrative privileges, I clicked yes and nothing happened, wasn't in task manager or anything.

Have you tried reinstalling it?

PS: nice profile pic, I'm really hurt now

I uninstalled, reinstalled, disabled windows defender real time protection, reinstalled it again, added it to the exclusions list, installed it again and again and again. nothing works. I restarted my pc 3 times nothing worked.

Probably has to be updated to work with the newest version of Windows 10. You might just have to wait for the developer to update it. I personally have never used cheat engine but it seems like from the website it gets updated after bigger Windows updates that could effect it. If you need to use it you can try reverting back to the previous Windows iteration before the most recent update and see if it works again. Or just wait until a new version is released.

I have 6.8.1 and, it works perfectly fine, maybe get an older version? Also, make sure you do a complete uninstall, not just a normal one.

You could use something like Ccleaner or, just delete Cheat Engine then search for anything related to it and delete those as well.

If you want to do it manually then, make sure to have hidden files enabled.

Sometimes that's not enough though. A clean uninstall means that everything that was related to it will be deleted as well.

Have you restarted your machine after deleting everything?

If nothing works then, give CCleaner's uninstaller a try. I had problems with Razer Synapse and, uninstalling with CCleaner and having it clear the registry fixed my problems.

ok I just restarted my pc, so ur saying I should install cheat engine again now?

Yeah, the way I'd do it is, have Cheat Engine installed and, if it doesn't work then, uninstall it completely then, restart and after that reinstall.

Well, I just updated to 6.8.3 and it works fine for me so, the problem is on your side for sure. My last resort is CCleaner then.

Just install Cheat Engine and use CCleaner to uninstall it then, maybe clear the registry as well to make sure nothing is left. After that, restart and reinstall.

Not sure if it will help but, it worked for me when I had issues.
