Looking for help

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

you should try AMD for at least once in your lifetime. I know intel is to be the better gaming choice and from that point on the new i5 might suit your needs but with the current amd tech it is very interesting to grab a amd for a change. Especially with how the ryzen 5's are priced and their performance in games it is a very interesting proposition to go for a 2600x coupled with 32 gb's of 3000 mhz ram. Its the same as i did ( i went for the 2600 ) and so far i tested it with games as Destiny 2, Mass Effect Andromeda, Nier Automata and NSFU payback with great satisfaction. The gpu i used is the gtx 1060 and i'm planning an upgrade to the new navi gpu's that are coming to see how that line of cards will function. Before i always went with Nvidia so i'm curious to see how that will turn out. So there you have it, take a look at the 5's be it intel or amd and you should be one hell of a happy gamer.
( one note i did use a aftermarket aircooler ( shadowrock tf2 from be quiet )) which performs way better then amd's stock cooler. I'm not sure if it is recommended to buy an aftermarket cooler or stick with the cooler amd supplies )

Look at my profile for my current specs but I am looking to upgrade my pc and needs some help on which processor to chose. I love Intel and have always used them but Ryzen is looking great right now. All I do on my pc is play games like rocket league, rainbow six siege, etc but my pc is starting to show its age. Any help is appreiciated.

I guess if I were you, I'd probably just go with a 2600 or 2600X and a decent kit of RAM, as your GPU should very likely be enough for you, although recently, I really haven't been active in the tech scene, so I'm not really the best person to take advice from, so better wait for other people's opinions and recommendations...?

Wait for Zen 2, then make the upgrade. If AMD's Zen 2 processors are not what you want or are too expensive, then their 2000 series will dramatically decrease in price

PC: CPU: i5-9600k - CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 - GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX 5700 XT 8GB GDDR6 - Motherboard: ASRock - Z370 Extreme4 - RAM: Team - T-Force Delta RGB 16 GB DDR4-3000 - PSU: Corsair - TXM Gold 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply - Case: Thermaltake - Core G21 TG
