Lately my computer has been restarting randomly after I turn it on. I can take 5 or it can take like 20 mins for it to do the random restart. But it's not a normal windows restart. The restart is instant as if someone had pushed the "restart button". I am running a few over clocks but don't seem to think that's the issue. Because after it does this weird restart thing, it works perfectly fine and doesn't do it again. I can play games and run stress test and nothing will cause it to do the restart again after it did it once. Any help or Input is helpful

I do have a 3200 Mhz on my ram and didn't have this weird problem until recently

Run memtest, take off overclocks, try different permutations of ram installations

If you recall when it occurred most recently, open up Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System, and zero in on that date/time. At the very least it will report the shutdown, but hopefully there are some clues in the log leading up to the sudden reboot.

All the event viewer says about the Restart is,"The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."

Do you see any WHEA-logger events in your logs? This would be a telltale sign that your overclock isn't as stable as you had hoped.

See the thing is that I have ran this overclock for over 2 months and had no issues untill recently and disabling all over clocks doesn't not prevent the restart

Last time I had a problem like this, it was a faulty power supply. I came to that conclusion by first reinstalling my OS, and when the problem persisted, I tested with a different video card. Still kept rebooting, so I ran Prime95 and Furmark at the same time and was able to immediately force a reboot. Tried it again to be sure I was able to replicate and sure enough the PC would reboot every single time it was at full load.

The easiest part to replace (among the parts left to deduce) in the troubleshooting process was the power supply, so I purchased an identical modular unit and simply left the cables in place and just swapped the PSU itself. Ran Prime95 and Furmark again, no reboot. Left it for about 20-30 minutes, and it was solid. Hasn't rebooted since. RMA'd the original PSU, then sold it when I got the replacement.

Well it looks like the restart is because of Asus suite 3 so it looks like I'm one of the few that got hacked so ya that's fun

I can't uninstall it but I can kill that app. And I look at my chrome and 98% of my CPU is used for one extension instance
