Enabling HDR causing weird artifacts

Whenever I enable HDR through windows it causes weird artifacts, like making the color blue appear pix elated, making the entire screen a rainbow fart of colors and stripes, etc. Switching it on or off seems to fix it though. Is this normal or common? I do have 2 other displays that are connected but not hdr, maybe that's what's causing it?
