I got a better motherboard and a better power supply. 

Also, it's 98.1$ more expensive, not 100$. With those 2.1$, he could've gotten candy bars so he has more energy to build the PC and be concentrated.

You could have just swapped the board for the B450M Gaming Plus for an extra $11. The Corsair CX psu is good enough.
