So, for years, I've carried laptops around in backpacks; such as the Targus Drifter or Wenger Ibex.

I've recently purchased an HP Omen (with an aluminium chassis).

By coincidence, my work laptop (an old Toshiba, also with an aluminium chassis) has just warped so badly that it rocks back and forth on my desk now. Our IT dept has blamed this entirely on my use of backpacks.

I don't really care about the work laptop but is my shiny new HP Omen likely to suffer the same fate if I carry it around in a backpack?

I guess if you have other things in the bag that can cause weight or when you sit it might bend.

Try and have it flat against your back
