help Hard Drive Help

I recently built my first PC and i'm trying to format the hard drive I got for it but when I open the disk manager tab I don't receive the notification prompting me to do initialize, what can I do to fix this?  (The hard drive does show up in the bios)

usually its a failed hdd but you can do some checks to make sure

1.removing and replugging the cables and trying diif sata ports.

2.u can dwld ubuntu into a usb and boot it.then try to format it.
