Hey guys,
So I have some problems with my PC,first when I turn it ON it gets stuck at the motherboard splash screen for 20-30 sec. Secondly, it is not detecting my HDD(which is new). When I replaced my HDD, same problems occurred with the old HDD also. It was not getting detected, windows got corrupted many times, stuck at motherboard splash screen. I just want to know if there is any problem in some other component which is doing the failures. Thanks.

My PC specs:-
AMD FX 6100 3.3GHZ
GA-78LMT-S2
4GB DDR3 HYPERX FURY
WD 500GB HDD
CIRCLE 500W PSU

Both issues are probably the same issue.

It's getting stuck because it's trying to detect the HDD but cannot. If you unplug the drive I'd bet anything it won't get stuck on the splash screen anymore.

Since you say this is the second drive that's had this issue it sounds more likely to be a board problem.

Some questions, does it happen if you move the SATA cable to another port on the board? Does the drive work in another PC?

Start by updating the UEFI to the latest version.

Main Rig:-

Ryzen 7 3800X | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | 16GB Team Group Dark Pro 3600Mhz | Corsair MP600 1TB PCIe Gen 4 | Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse | Corsair H115i Platinum | WD Black 1TB | WD Green 4TB | EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W | Asus TUF GT501 | Samsung C27HG70 1440p 144hz HDR FreeSync 2 | Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS |

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)

i) I have tried all SATA ports problem is same, optical drive works fine in all ports.

ii) I don't have another PC to try with. Thanks :).

Then if updating the BIOS doesn't work it really sounds like the board is dying unless you've been really unlucky and have tried 2 dead drives (which is possible). Do you have any other hard drives you can try?

BIOS is updated(Since its an old Mobo the last update they released was in 2014). Don't have another hard drive to test.
