Which Motherboard best for overclocking

Hi Guys

I am looking for a motherboard for my Ryzen 5 2600X. I have been struggling to find a balance between performace, temperature, and style. I was thinking about ASUS B450 Rog strix, but I wondered if the best thing. I have seen a lot of people praising the MSI B450 Tomahawk but to me it just plain ugly. I have also looked at X470 motherboards but still wonder do I get the bang for my bucks. So I going to ask the community for some Help

Thank You,

I've got the B350 tomahawk and it's perfectly fine, can't speak to the B450 though. Generally, an ROG board will be pretty good for overclocking. With a 2600X, I would definitely look at X470, especially if you plan to do some overclocking. Better VRMs and power delivery generally, which result in higher overclocks

Gosh, I hate it when people forget. Anyway, check out my PC below, and there's a PCPartPicker link on my profile, If you wanna see what I'm planning.

Msi's boards have some of the best vrms on am4, until you get into expensive x470 boards. I'd recommend you go look for Buildzoid's am4 motherboard comparison he did on the Gamers Nexus Youtube channel. Sorry I can't link it atm, no time

wait... what? no. some are actually even horrible for high end overclocking (just to name a few: maximus hero/code/formula, TUF)

Why do you say that also are saying like the Maximus hero/code/formula are a bad option or are you saying they are good options.

I'm saying bad, as they cost over 200 dollars, and have a fat 4 phase power design, while others in that pricerange have a 8 phase with doublers or even a 12-16 phase

but it wasn't fully on topic, as those are intel boards

consumes more power than equivelents, around 20 watts more, but otherwise a pretty good board

look into the x470 fatal1ty, pro carbon and taichi too

or any other from that list that's tier a or b

Get either a better board like Taichi, or skip useless crap and go with Asus Prime X470-Pro.

And who cares if motherboard doesn't look good? You ain't buying it for looking at it ?

Strix is good board indeed, but pricy and all that plastic serves no purpose, except for hindering with potential cooling
