Time to give up?

So ever since the recent win 10 update I am unable to use ethernet to access the internet. Can access my network and other computers but not internet. It works for a few mins after an update and then gone, not internet access although the little triangle does not appear. I tried reinstalling drivers and resetting defaults and nothing helps. Is it time for me to give up and reinstall windows? I hate doing this but it fixes the unfixable problems it seems.

compared to clueless troubleshooting, reinstall windows is much less pain/ less effort.

I'm first going to try another option, stupid updates breaking stuff.

least effort ways I think:

use phone as wifi, usb tethering

oh I have wifi it is just far from as good as ethernet. I fixed it btw, I tried and long shot and it worked. For some reason after the recent windows update my pc will not connect to my bell router but it will work on my secondary router. Before you ask I have it setup so there is no double NAT and all that stuff so it's fine but I had connected it to the bell router so I would get better latency and reliability as there is so much internal network traffic going through that switch and router. It's not so bad though, it is better than wifi and better than a reinstall.... not sure how the update made my main router sad but owell.
