I can put about another $150 into it (Cad), which could either upgrade the Gpu to 2070, or Cpu to ryzen 7 2700x, or anything else I should do instead. If you have any suggestions, please let me know, thanks!

Change the cpu to a 2600, you can overclock to match the X speeds.

I'd swap the SSD for an MX500 or 860 Evo

And change the gpu to a 1660 ti or 1660.

Thanks for suggestions, but just curious why it is that I should downgrade even while having a bit extra money?  Is it just because the monitor is 1080p anways? In that case, I could buy a 1440p 144hz monitor? I haven't actaully bought the monitor yet, and could upgrade that instead.

1660 wouldnt be the best gpu for 144hz 1440p.

The reason for the "downgrade" is because you don't need to spend more on something that isnt worth it. Theyre the same chips, one just has a higher base speed.

If fps is your goal then you might want to switch to an 8700k

Ok, so that same chip is for the gpu or cpu's? Thanks for the responses.

The 8700k? Thats a cpu.

They're a bit more expensive though.

Sorry, I meant when you said that it isn't a downgrade as it has the same chip. The 8700k is probably a bit expensive as it's $250 more then the 2600x. would it be better to get the 8700k with 1660ti, or ryzen 5 2600 with 2060, as they end up being similar prices anyway.

The difference between the 1660ti and the 2060 is raytracing, there really isnt much of a massive performance difference between them.

Either of the two cpus will be fine for 1080p 144hz gaming. 8700k especially due to better single core performance but the 2600 is a great cheap chip.

Alright, and how about ryzen 7 2700, as it's about $100 less then the 8700k. I had thought the 2060 was a decent bit better then the 1660ti, but if ray tracing is the only difference, then I'll just go with that. Thank you for you help

If you only plan on gaming then you don't need to pass the 2600.

The 2700 is a good chip for multitasking and workstation stuff (eg. Streaming).

Sorry to bother you again, but I found the msi 1070ti Duke for less then the 2060, a bit more then 1660ti, do you think that would be better then both of them?
