FYI, it's not helpful for us to help you with just a quick shit of a post like that.  At least pretend to be courteous, asking for help ;)

Thats a bit rude, they were just answering the questions we gave. They prob just arent super familiar with forum behavior

Edit: This makes the LTT forums seem kinda hostile...

Hostile?

If I'm hostile, he's rude.  Expecting help without even asking.  He just expected folks to jump.  Boom, find me a graphics card, here are my specs.  At least lube me up first :P

Hello,

New to site hoping to find out some suggestions.  Finally built a PC was gaming on a server turned gaming machine for the longest was pretty happy with the evo nvidia 1050 ti with 6gigs ram,. since recently built a AMD 2700 , DD4 3200, and kept the card.  Needless to say now with all the newly found power I have the itch to go higher but not ready to pull the trigger on anything over 200-300 dollars.  I dont have any plans of going to 4k since I only have a 1080p monitor.  So, was wondering if it was worth going to anything in that price range or should i wait until I am ready to spend more money?

Thanks!!

is your monitor 144hz?

if not then its not worth going any higher then an rx 580, if it is, then yes, at that price point a 1660ti would make the most sense.

Also, its normally best to create another post if you have questions.

You know it is not....... What sucks is I purchased it 2 years before even imagining that I would take it serous enough to matter... 27 inch Acer but only running at 60 hz... which I have noticed odd blurring.... maybe ill look to get a new monitor first. Thanks gave something to chew on...

its not advisable to go with higher then 24 inches with a 1080p monitor because the pixel density is too low and as you have noticed, it will look blurry.

it may actually be a better idea to either downsize to a 1080p 144hz 24 inch monitor or if you don't want a smaller monitor, save up and get a 1440p monitor (if possible 144hz) monitor alongside a new gpu, at 1440p its advisable to go with at least an rtx 2060, anything else will struggle to achieve 60fps.

if you are ok with lower framerates, then an gtx 1660ti will be good enough.

Thank you for the feedback.  I'd wish I was more informed at the time of purchase.  At the time I just wanted a bigger monitor and it was on sale.

Are there any AMD recommendations in that fold by the way.  Noticed how Nvidia gets a lot of love for a lot good reasons it sounds like.  Currious if they are worth a look at a similar price point. 1660ti that is.

unfortunately only amd option that makes sense right now is the rx 580, if you can get it for substantially cheaper then a gtx 1660, they do have cards in that price range- the rx 590 but there is zero reason to buy it given how much faster the 1660ti is.

this could change with amd navi (next gen gpu's) that have been rumoured for a while now to give rtx 2070 performance at about 250 usd, but nothing is guarantee'd and with how badly vega did, I wouldn't get your hopes up.

thanks guy's for help i went in and get rx580...i have 1080 screen just now but i will definitly get new screen  with high res..thanks guy's

The RX 580 is a great price to performance choice for 1080p Gaming. Note that it will start to taper off in framerate reliability if your next monitor is 1440p. (Which is not required, I'm perfectly happy with my 580 and my 1080p monitor.)
