I managed to complete my first build. I've had computers before now but this is the first time I have turned a bunch of components from their boxes into an actual running PC.

I was on a strict budget so this isn't one of those high-end monsters I've seen on this forum but hey, I'm really proud of myself for doing everything on my own.

Parts list:

Intel Core i5 - 3570k

8GB Kingston Genesis DDR3 1600Mhz

MSI Z77A-G43

MSI 660Ti Power Edition

Kingston HyperX 3k 120GB SSD

Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB (carried over from my old PC)

Some stupid LG optical drive

Corsair 600T

MSI X-Fi Xtreme Gamer sound card (carried over from my old PC)

Zalman ZM600-HP (6 year old PSU that has been in 8 or 9 different PC's and it's still running like a champ)

APC BackUPS C5 UPS

Once I get some more money saved, I plan on buying a Thermalright SilverArrow Extreme and a Corsair H650W 80 Plus GOLD PSU and starting to overclock the CPU and GPU.

Also, I want to change the 200mm fans that came with the case with some BitFenix Spectre Pro Green LED 200mm fans and maybe add a green LED strip.

Also, the cable management took me 8 hours. And I'm not even joking.

I don't know where all the dust is coming from... There isn't that much dust in my house and the system has been up for less than 7 days. The dust filters on the Corsair 600T suck balls.

Later edit: The fan controller on the 600T failed today, after only 5 days. I have to take the whole thing apart and ask for a replacement (or at least have it fixed). This case is a huge disappointment, considering how much cash I forked over for it. I am so bumbed out right now...
