Need Help! Gtx 1080 issues.

Hello :)

First off, let me say me and a friend have spent 2 days trying to solve my issue, looking all over the internet for fixes. Unable to find a solution to my problem.

Recently picked up a gtx 1080, and the fps in the majority of the games I play is poor, and gpu usage is stuck between 20-40% usage.

-Tried reinstalling  drivers

-tried setting performance to maximum performance mode on Nvidia control panel

-power setting in windows

-reset CMOS

finaly reinstalled windows

None of the above have had worked and still getting poor frames, not allowing me to utilize my 144hz monitor which is the reason I upgraded.

Cpu usage is fine.

Pc -

i7 7700k @stock

Asus Strix Z270F

16gb corsair vengeance ddr4 2400mhz

Gtx 1080 Gigabyte

EVGA 600w W1, 80+ White

What power supply do you have?

Copied from Amazon, when doing benchmark tests, the GPU does run at 90+ usage but not when playing games.

every time I try to load it I just get out of memory,

Do you mean you don't have enough system memory to run the program, or that is the result you get?

How much system ram are you using while idle?

I wen't ahead and tried that program and I got the same error, so it is the programs fault.

1.9 g, sorry for the delay had to restart

That is very strange. There are only a few suggestions that I can think of

try to re-seat the GPU in the slot.

try a different driver version.

see if you can get full GPU usage in a program like FurMark, or Unigine

install afterburner and make sure no strange settings are set.

 

none of those are in any order, lol sorry.

Yer my friend and i have spent ages, it's weird, also new development, apex is running at 90-95% usage but still, other games are not....
