I was thinking about getting a VPN andn since PIA is the sponsor i looked it up.
But since PIA has its HQ in USA they could be compromise by a National security letter.
Isnt that a problem?
Wasnt this the exact reason they ditchedTunnel Bear?

IIRC they ditched Tunnelbear because TB was bought by McAfee and didn't reply to LTT's request for info on the acquisition.

Linus even made an entire video on the subject.

EDIT :

PIA claims they don't keep logs and as such a National Security letter won't matter because there would literally be no data to hand over.

However there's no way to know if they are actually speaking the truth.  Even if they are, there's no guarantee that they can't be forced to start logging data at some point in the future.

And thats what I am worried about.
Its not privacy by design, but by trust.
And I If a NSL is sent that trust is worthless.

But then again I dont know if lets say a NordVPN would serve me any better.

I just want to do something against the 24/7 Surveillance.
And a vpn at least protects yopu from exploits in public wifi.

Thanks for the reply :D
