Is this suitable for 1080p 144hz gaming?

Orcanito

Hey, guys! I'm going to be building a PC for my buddy as a gift for his birthday, and I was wondering if this is a good build? He's going to be buying his own 144hz monitor, and I'm buying him the PC so I just wanted to make sure I'm getting the best bang for my buck here.

Thanks in advance!

It may be wise to up the graphics card, but it should be fine for the most part. May just have to lower some settings here and there to get that 144 fps.

I have a 1080 doing 1440p 144hz and its pretty good without having to change much. So you can kinda use that as a benchmark.

Although i think you can find some cheaper builds with better parts so i would look around on pcp

CPU:R9 3900x@4.5Ghz RAM:Vengeance Pro LPX @ 3200mhz MOBO:MSI Tomohawk B350 GPU:PNY GTX 1080 XLR8

Yes it will but if you can get a 1080 it will be much better at handling new game at ultra. For High setting( they look the same) 1070 will do fine in 1080p 144 fps.
