Coolermaster H500M issues

My new H500M Coolermaster is awesome with one issue. There are 4 USB 3.0 ports and one USB 3.1 port on the front panel. The 3.1 does not function, all the others work fine. How can I activate the 3.1?

What is wrong with the 3.1 port?

Is it defective, or does your motherboard not have a USB 3.1 Type-C header?

If your motherboard does not have a compatible header, you can always use an adapter.
