Which should I get?

Go to solution Solved by Biased Opinion,

So I am planning to order one of these from amazon.co.uk:

  • Sennheiser HD 518 Open Circumaural Headphones = 95 pounds
  • Sennheiser HD 558 High End Open Headphones = 120 Pounds
  • Beyerdynamic DT990 PRO Headset = 120 Pounds
  • Audio Technica ATH-M50 Studio Monitor Professional Headphones = 120 Pounds

and they will be matched with a FiiO E06 which is going to cost 20 Pounds .

So I don't know what to get, I am leaning towards the HD 558s. Any reccommendations?

They will be used on my:

  • iPod Touch 4th gen
  • Huawei Ascend P6
  • And my gaming system:

if you intend to use them for mobile dont get the hd 558s because its is a natvie 1/4 inch jack and even though they give you the adapter it is just to bulky. So unless you intend to buy a new cable try and get something else. I dont know if the HD 518s have this aswell but you should look into it. Also my HD 558s are fantastic, soundstage is excellent and everything is crisp and clear with no overpowering base so i would say get them if the adapter is not an issue.

I don't care much about size since I will be carrying an amp on me so the size of my pockets will be adjusted :P

as they are open the hd558s, the hd 518 and it think the beyers will all leak sound for everyone else to hear and will not block out as much sound as the m50s so take that for what you will

If anyone has experience will more than one of these cans they should chime in.

Well I guesss since no one else has replyed I guess I will just get the HD 558s

I have the HD598s and they are amazing, Slightly better than the 558s but not worth the price difference. I can 100% reccommend the 558s for the quality you will get.
