Hello, I have a Laptop that i would like to upgrade, it currently has a Core I3 2310M CPU, I was wondering if I could upgrade it to a Core I7 2630QM, I checked and they seem to both have the Sandy Bridge architecture, would I have to upgrade the cooling, use a better thermal paste, or would any other problems arise?

Without doing proper surgery on your laptop it would be Extremely hard to change the cpu (unless you have it covered) I would suggest building a new rig for about $400

my laptop is a Lenovo L420, I can just unscrew the bottom and the CPU cooler is really easy to remove as well as the CPU being a PGA socket. And I am working on a desktop rig at the moment. I just would like to up the power of my laptop a bit.
