Cache size helps improve reads when you read data repeatedly (probably cache of the drive commands as well) but if you have a modern system that allows for SSD caching that would be the way to go or a bigger boost in drive performance. That being said, the newer drives have better tech. (which would probably include the 64 mb cache as well) so I would really go for which ever is a newer model. Take a look at the spec sheet for each and compare the access times, that will give you a quick view of the possible performance.
