If you get a titan you will be safe at 1080p for about 3 years and probably be able to play top titles at the highest settings for most of it. Its overkill but futureproof and the 6gbs of usable memory will be very handy, it gives u the chance to upgrade, even to a 4k monitor. You will also have a smooth gaming experience even if you are getting low framerates as the frame times are nice and even (or short, whichever it is?) i would say yeah u could get a gtx 680 or 7970 but they will not be as goid for as long as a titan

Intel I7 2600k @ 4.5ghz, Asetek 510 LC Xtremegear liquid cooling system, PALIT GTX 780 Super Jetstream OC, 8Gb Kingston Hyper X blu series 1600mhz, 64Gb Crucial M4 series SATA III Gaming MLC SSD, 1TB Western Digital HDD 6.0gb/s,  Asus P8z68-v Pro Motherboard, Corsair Vengance K90 Keyboard,950Watt Cyberpower PSU, Cyborg RAT 5 ,  Coolermaster CM 690II case, Dell Ultrasharp U2412M 1920 x 1200

yea, in around 3 years i do most likley have a sommerjob so i can upgrade then. If im desiding to go for a GTX Titan i will not upgrade for 2 years, 100% shure... if not one more titan if i get a 4k or if games suddently become cinema graphics :D

Exactly, the bandwidth of 2 titans will easily play 4k games, (just 1 is also compatable) you will also probably be able to play any game at 1080p with 99% of settings maxed for like 5 years with sli titans. make sure you get a pci e 3.0 motherboard with at least one 16x and one 8x slot for sli. also make sure your cpu will not bottleneck the cards so a high end cpu is recommended which I would overclock aswell and some fast ram 8 gb minimum. dude go for it! I know I would!!

totally enough, 8gb or 16gb ram doesnt matter youll never need 16gb if your just gaming but it doesnt hurt to have it if you can afford it. A 6 core cpu will be more than enough, especially intel as they hyperthread so you get another 6 virtual cores in windows,so u get a massive 12 hyperthetical cores. With a build like that you shoud really be watercooling and getting a 4.5 to 5 ghz overclock on most new cpus to get extreme performances, and will really help with gaming passing data between itself and the gpu ; )

I've never used AMD on my system but on my next rig(after couple of mounts) i will go for it because of the never settle deals :) Think about it - if you get 2amd cards you will get 6 games.Even if you sell them you will get money back for 1 card and you will end up with spended money for 1 card and get 2 instead :)Titan is too expensive i think there is no point

Never settle is valid all over the world, yes amd cards are better value and the drivers are excellent at the moment, but im not even sure If the 7970 supports 4k, I know for a fact that the titan supports it as its on the official specs.

oh yeah 7970 does support 4k, yeah 2x 7970s would be better value than titan and probably leave you spare money to buy other things, performance wouldn't be as good over the long term but personally now I know it supports 4k id get 2x 7970's

The Titan isn't worth your money, I would personally go with crossfire 7970 or wait for new graphics cards to come out like the 7990 or the 700 series for nVidia. If you're just going to use a 1080p monitor to play your games, the 2x 7970 is more than enough for years to come.

If you're doing basic editing/3D work, 16GB of RAM is plenty.
