Hi everyone!!
In 2 months will put together new pc for gaming and wanted know some thinks about storage.
I will use MSI B360 GAMING PRO CARBON motherboard. And will use:

  • Samsung 970 EVO 250GB M.2 NVME (Main drive with OS and programms)
  • Western Digital Blue 500GB M.2 SSD (For games and other thinks)

Picture how its will be placed: https://imgur.com/a/pffmn9S#JJEFbx9

And i have some questions:

  1. This settup is correct and compatible?
  2. How hot will get 970 EVO if use it for OS? (I readed its can get very hot and need heat sink)
  3. Nvme 970 Evo will effect video card pci lines?

I know nvme will not give me big difference casual pc using, compare to standard ssd.
I use 2 m.2 ssd because whant less cables in pc case
This motherboard support 1 standard m2 ssd and 1 nvme if i correct.
And compare standart m.2 ssd (250gb) to nvme m.2 (250gb) price is only 15 usd more for evo 970.

Plan is play games at 1080p 144Mhz monitor.
Overall PC components what i plan to buy:

  • Cpu: Intel® Core™ i5-8500
  • Motherboard: MSI B360 GAMING PRO CARBON
  • Ram: Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 16GB 2666MHz (2x8 stick for dual channel)
  • Gpu: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 Gaming OC 6GB (3 fan version)
  • Case: Corsair Mid-Tower Case 275R
  • Storage 1: Samsung 970 EVO 250GB M.2 NVME
  • Storage 2: Western Digital Blue 500GB M.2
  • PSU: Be Quiet! Pure Power 11 CM 600W or Be Quiet! Pure Power 10 600W CM BN278
  • Cpu Coller: Be Quiet! Pure Rock BK009
  • Fan: Pure Wings 2 140mm x3 2 Front and 1 back

Last question witch from this 2 psu is batter (price is almost same) :

  • Be Quiet! Pure Power 11 CM 600W
  • Be Quiet! Pure Power 10 600W CM BN278

And sorry for bad eng not my primary language.
Thanks for helping me!

1) I'd swap them. You want the drive with the OS to have the fastest speeds (there's a better way to say this, my English isn't so good).

2) Not at all. Whatever you read was false. SSD's like this don't get hot enough to warrant a heat-sink. Especially as an OS and games drive, that's the exact daily use for the EVO, you will be fine.

3) Neither should affect it, but you'd have to look at your hardware to make sure the board and CPU have enough PCIe lanes, which I can only imagine, being a modern board and CPU, that they have plenty.

You won't experience any slowdowns or overheats, you'll be fine.

Honestly though? Just get one SSD the size you need rather than two. A larger 970 EVO will do you even better than two separate SSD's.

Cant swap because m2-1 slots supports standart m.2 ssd and nvme but m,2-2 slot only support nvme drive.

If something broke its easy for me just go near shop for repair or exchange. If i order from other country i will get tax around 200 euro and when i will need repair will need send with mail.

just keep in mind they just send it to the component maker anyway, retailers rarely do own repairs
