GPU/PSU Help

I am going to be getting a new GPU soon (GTX 1070 8GB) but there is a slight problem. My PSU (Cooler Master 500W) only has 2 6pins, one currently is using my GTX 960.

The 1070 is an 8-pin which I don't have, but I have looked around online such as amazon and this one here seems like it will work.

Any information on what is best to do is greatly appreciated

I believe I have a Non Modular Cooler Master 500W 80 Plus (I ordered my PC from Ironside because I needed a new computer overall) 
sidenote: would this work too? I'm not really trying to spend $30 for a cable

I mean the model name  or do you not know? Most PSU's nowdays have 6+2 PCI-E cables

The model name I dont know, but yes it does have 2PCI-E Cables, but they have a little "tetris block" on the side of it and I don't know what that is used for because I tried putting it into my GPU which is the 6pin and it wouldn't go in.

You can put the little 2 pin over the 6 pin to make an effective 8 pin

but doesn't the two pin make it where you plug it in? because I tried using it and it wouldn't work cause of the little "tetris block"
